From the Bang the Table case study: With just two hours notice and in only four weeks live, Bang the Table brought over 4,300 people into the debate about whether to retain or remove the rail line into the Newcastle central business district. Over 800 people made 2,800 comments on the issue and left 10,000 votes. The strength and sophistication of the argument prompted a change in policy by the Government and the results were verified by a separate phone survey by the Hunter Valley Research Foundation.
